Disc Sander // How To
Build Video:
If you have watched my older videos, you may know that I used to have a drill-powered disc sander, however, that disc sander wasn't very stable and square to the table, so I decided to rebuild one.
Also, this is the project that I incorporate with my homemade pulleys from the last project.
This disc sander is built around my circular saw, which is why I need the pulley ratio, 1:2.5 because the motor RPM is way too fast (5,000 RPM). However, if you have a motor laying around in your shop that fits the requirements for a disc sander (around 1,750~2,000 RPM), you can definitely use it. (You can also use a drill too!)
Anyway, having a disc sander is very useful and handy in your shop and you definitely should own one whether you build or buy one. But as a woodworker's perspective, you should definitely BUILD one. (personal opinion :) Hope you enjoy the build.
